Situation
To introduce the world to their new multiplayer online open-world shooter, Firefall, Red 5 wanted to do something extraordinary. They decided to take their game to the players with a Mobile Gaming Unit—a 48-foot bus with 20 gaming stations inside. Not only did this bus have to be road-ready, but they also wanted to make sure it looked like a vehicle from the sci-fi world of Firefall, inside and out.
Solution
To pull off this ambitious build, West Coast Customs teamed up with Storyland Studios. They handled the bus retrofit while our team created the futuristic interiors and exteriors. We wrapped the bus in a custom-built fiberglass shell, painted it, and added tailor-made LED lighting and illuminated Firefall signs. Inside, we created 20 themed gaming stations, complete with personal screens and LED-lit chairs.
Transformation
The Firefall bus was a massive hit with fans when it debuted at Anime Expo Los Angeles. The build was featured on season 3 of Inside West Coast Customs.
