Situation

A Powerful Vision Awaiting a Unifying Thread

UPSWING, a Denver-based nonprofit, is committed to providing world-class athletic training to youth, irrespective of their socioeconomic background. Despite having a foundational brand guide and initial facility plans, UPSWING faced challenges in integrating these elements into a cohesive narrative. Without a unifying vision, their assets struggled to fully communicate their mission or engage their community.

Solution

Crafting for Clarity, Rooted in Purpose

Storyland collaborated closely with UPSWING to refresh their brand personality and guidelines, aligning them more closely with their mission of inclusivity in athletic training. We also led the architectural and thematic renovation of their Centennial facility, all while simultaneously master planning the forthcoming Dreamplex facility, envisioning a purpose-built flagship location designed to bring their long-term vision to life.

Transformation

Forming Fragmented Ideas into an Impactful, Fully Realized Vision

Through strategic storytelling and integrated design, UPSWING’s brand and physical spaces now resonate with a unified message of empowerment and accessibility. The Centennial facility will be a testament to this transformation—turning a former big-box retail store into a vibrant environment for strength, community, and commitment. It will offer a welcoming space that reflects UPSWING’s dedication to youth development, inspiring the next generation of athletes through accessible, high-level training. The Dreamplex promises to amplify this impact, providing a comprehensive space designed to nurture and equip young athletes for years to come.
