A need to bring the iconic Batmobile into the real world

When the team here at Storyland Studios was tasked with creating the iconic Batmobile for the E3 product launch of BATMAN: Arkham Knight, we knew the challenge would demand a design worthy of the Dark Knight himself—one that was both faithful to the source material and expertly executed.

The E3 team required a Batmobile that was lightweight yet durable, seamlessly constructed, and easy to ship.

We collaborated closely with the E3 design and marketing teams, utilizing original digital models straight from the game.

This allowed us to transform a virtual design into a physical build—bringing to life the world players would soon immerse themselves in.

By incorporating a variety of materials—including dense foams, polyurethane hard coats, fiberglass, polycarbonate, lighting, effects, and more—we achieved the highest level of accuracy possible.

We meticulously crafted the Batmobile to meet every requirement with precision. Using the original in-game model as a foundation, our team transformed the digital asset into a real-world showpiece, ensuring every curve, panel, and mechanical detail remained true to its virtual counterpart.

Advanced fabrication techniques allowed us to integrate intricate surface textures and paneling while maintaining structural integrity. We engineered a lightweight yet durable frame designed for easy disassembly and transport, the Batmobile could be efficiently broken down and reassembled without compromising its seamless appearance.
