Just down the road from America’s coolest college town in eastern Alabama, Storyland Studios is collaborating with Auburn-Opelika tourism to design and create an all-new interactive visitor experience. Located in the historic city of Opelika, Alabama, the Auburn-Opelika Visitor Experience will highlight the area’s popular features, drive guest engagement, and attract visitors and loyal fans every year.  

Solution 

An Engaging, Interactive Visitor Experience  

With a rich local history, a host of recreational activities and attractions, and a booming student population at Auburn University, the Auburn-Opelika area has a knack for capturing hearts. This interactive visitor experience will serve to amplify that magic. It’s designed to surprise and delight guests from all over the world. Much more than an information center, it will be an attraction itself. Ultimately, it’s set to inspire exploration, longer stays, and return trips to the area.  

Visitors to Auburn-Opelika enjoy a variety of activities and experiences, which the new visitor attraction will highlight: outdoor recreation such as the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, fan-favorite local shops such as Toomer’s Drugs, craft breweries, an upscale culinary scene, and much more. They’ll also get a taste of local art; the Storyland team is collaborating not only with Auburn-Opelika Tourism, but also with local artisans and craftspeople to bring the attraction to life.

Innovative Technologies Transform Historic Stories Into New Adventures 

One feature we’re particularly excited about is the frequent changes to the interactive experience. We can’t reveal much about that yet, but let’s just say there’s going to be a fun and engaging “Easter egg” component that will keep guests guessing. There will also be plenty of opportunities for social sharing to get the word out.  

Ultimately, our innovative approach will incorporate new technologies to tell Auburn-Opelika’s story in a fresh and exciting way.
